Informed by her 2015 installation, Dazzleships that Pass in the Night, at The SPACE, the artist Jaye Ho researched & delivered a workshop at The Y Centre in St Leonards on 1 September 2015.
Working with 12 young people & 3 parent leaders from the home schooled group, she led the workshop from 10.00-15.00. The group learned about the use of dazzle painting on WWI battleships to protect from enemy detection & attack. Using dazzleships camouflage for inspiration, the young people learned spray painting techniques to incorporate in temporary structures preventing them from attack.
A successful day event which was made possible by a grant from the Community Partnership Fund through Hastings Borough Council & the Grassroots Flow-Through Fund through Sussex Community Foundation.
